Les Portraits - Portraits

Quoi de plus personnel qu'un portrait? Que ce soit celui d'un enfant, d'un parent, d'un ami, d'un acteur ou d'une actrice, d'un animal,... le portrait est une chose extrêmement personnelle.

Il est important de pouvoir saisir les traits de caractère de la personne concernée et il est encore plus difficile de capturer l'âme du sujet quand l'artiste ne le connait pas. Le portrait fige un moment bien précis dans le temps. Il fixe l'image de l'être aimé, de celui qui nous a quitté, de l'animal qui nous accompagne pendant un instant sur le chemin de la vie, du conjoint ou de la conjointe qui nous récomforte dans les moments difficiles. Il garde bien en vie une seconde suspendue dans le temps: un sourire, un clin d'oeil, un éclat de rire ou la douceur d'un regard qui en dit long.

What could be more personal than a portrait? A child, a relative, a friend, an actor or an actress, an animal... portraits are a very personal thing.

A portrait must catch the person's character without fail and it is even harder and more important to capture the subject' soul when the artist doesn't know him. Portraits capture a precise moment in time. They freeze the beloved's image, the memory of a person who has left us, of the animal who walks beside us during one short time along life's path, of the person who comforts us during hard times. Portraits keep one second in time eternal: a smile, a wink, a laughter or the gentleness of someone looking at us.

Some reallly good drawing and painting going on there! I would really like to see you do some imaginative things from out of you head rather than just working from reality and photographs.

You have such skill, now you need to take it to the next level and really create, hope I dont offend in saying this, I offer it as constructive critiscim from one artist to another!
